The Brickell Key was a vision of investor Edward N. Claughton, Sr. and in the 1970’s the Swire Properties bought a major interest in the island and developed a master plan. The Swire Properties then hired J. Scott Architects in the 1980’s to design a condominium to complement the highly successful Brickell Key I. The result was an architectural masterpiece of 18 floors and 397 residences.
